Dad, Papa, Papaji, Popsi, Appa, Pappa

So many moods

So many names

I call you with

It’s neither father’s day

Nor it’s your birthday

Yet it is your day

Because you make my day everday

I wanted this 51st poem to be very special

And no one but you can make it possible.

So daddy, our fights started since the day I stepped in this world

Your lessons of worldly wisdom started the day I learnt to learn

Admist the night sky with full of stars

On the terrace top when I was in arms of yours

Those little little things you taught

Have got me here

Without much fear

I proceed and lead my life

With you always standing by my side

A lot I’ve to say, to learn

And I will always be my daddy’s good girl!

hypocritical people

annoying yet interesting

say something

mean something out of the blue

words mere words

forever smiling

cunning they seem

dual lives they live

hard to deal with

such people are

really ambiguous creatures they are!

untitled #3

All of us are self centred people and we bond with people whose mental level matches with ours. Spirituality says that there are vibrations that we give out unknowingly and they travel miles. If our vibrations matches up with someone, they become our friends. This is one of the explanation for two situations we experience, I.e, love at first sight or special connection you feel when you meet someone for the first time and the other one is a sudden dislike for a random person. I am a modern day teenager and hence question the ideas of spirituality but here I strongly agree with an idea of spiritualism: we are powerful enough to create our own little world.  I have not read the book “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne but have practiced “The Law of Attraction” and it appears to be true that we can create the life we want to live with our thoughts. Our thoughts are so powerful that they are not only capable of bringing about a change in ourselves but change around us as well. People change as soon as our thoughts towards them alter. The world which we live in is a reflection of our inner self.

All this is so vague and I have been quite in disagreement with this law initially and even now I don’t really quite agree with it but at the same time I don’t oppose it as well. And here comes a catch!

Things work well as long as our thoughts are in our control. Things turn upside down when our thoughts overpower ourselves. There’s a storm and a void that builds up. In the end, I will conclude by saying …..umm…well you’re intelligent enough to get it.

log kya kahenge

“sabse bada rog, kya kahenge log”

Society, people, friends, relatives, and the uncles and aunts from Jupiter and Mars. They are the people who have put up bars. No, they are not at fault. It is us who have given the remote control of our lives in their hands. These are the people with very little knowledge, all the experience in the world and a mouth with a huge size that never shuts up, because no matter what, they will have something or the other thing to comment upon. According to these Uncles and Aunts, (whom we don’t really know) their kids are the best and ‘baaki sab baccho ko inke baccho se kuch seekhna chahiye’ (Rubbish, they may be good but only you know the loopholes which their parents, ie the Auntyji and Uncleji don’t know)

These typical unclejis and auntyjis again have a very typical image of boys and girls and have a mental rule book of how ‘the kids’ should behave.

No. 1 Girls should be soft spoken and a little shy. They should obey their parents and must possess all that Bhartiya Naari types qualities. She is not supposed to voice her opinions in matters that are directly related to her only, and if she manages to have such opinion and independence, then her parents are to be blamed “maa baap ne bigaad diya hai” or “padhe likhe ghar ki bigadi hui ladki, dekho kaise zaban chalati hai” are some of the pet dialogues. Plus there are a 100 more things which especially , Indian girls are supposed to be good at and a lot of which we already have on our facebook feed, example “learn to make gol chappatis or who will marry you” 😛

And now Boys, well I’ll let my friends and brothers to express their views. 😉

Sometimes I wonder why Facebook is such a hit and then I’m reminded of one of the chain messages that ‘people have more interest in other people’s lives than their own’ 😛

If we try to be on our own and make an effort to do something unconventional, then there are thousand people waiting to pull us down. Just like if I say I want to start up my own business, then “aaj ke time mei business karna bahut mushkil hai”. Koi mujhe ye batao ye “aaj ka time” kab shuru hua tha, aur kab khatam hoga?

Moral of the story is People will never shut up, it is us who have to stop giving a damn and be on our own.

“kuch to log kahenge, logo ka kaam hai kehna, chhodho bekaar ki baato mei kahin beet naa jaaye raina”

It’s a man’s world.

We are always taught that both men and women are equal. Be it job, education, society but they are not. Lets face it. Women are always considered a weaker sex and whenever a woman stood up for herself, there are a bunch of people to pull her down. Man has never really understood a woman. They say all men should try to understand their daughters to know what being a woman really means. Its a scientifically proven fact that men suffer from heart attacks more often than women and its all because men can’t handle stress while women are gifted with natural shock absorbers. Women go through hell and can still have a smile on her face. While if a man is having fever, the whole neighbourhood would know. No matter what women have to go through, they are still the pillars of the society holding it ever since.
